유창창(Changchang Yoo, 1974)의 작품에는 정체불명의 인물(존재)이 등장한다. 눈 코 입이 없는 얼굴이거나 마치 외계인 같은 얼굴, 초현실적이며 기형적인 표정과 함께 ‘시끌벅적하고 무질서한’ 구성을 보여준다. 이러한 작업이 암시하는 뉘앙스는 ‘웃픈’ 또는 ‘희비극’적인 것이다. 작가는 한국예술종합학교 영상원 애니메이션과를 수료했다. LAD(서울, 2021), 갤러리2(서울, 2021), 아트스페이스 휴(파주, 2017) 등에서 개인전을 가졌으며, 플레이스막, 탈영역 우정국, 아람미술관, 한국만화박물관 등에서 다수의 그룹전에 참여했다. 2017년에는 종근당 예술지상에 선정됐다. 

Changchang Yoo (b.1974) painted an ambiguous figure (being) into his work. Something is amiss. Perhaps even remiss as strangely malformed features are estranged of distinct eyes, nose, or even a mouth. Yet the face completes a composition express with pandemonium. The nuance is anywhere between mirthful and sardonic. Yoo speaks of painting in terms of the game of Go, where laying the brush on canvas is like playing a stone on the board; it sets into motion a cascade of variables and variations. The artist read ahead into what may be, and painted the thoughts and situations that came to him, keeping with his belief that it was more important for paintings to carry a mood than follow a certain rule or predetermined sequence.
